(June 3, 2009) - MX Sports Pro Racing and Lucas Oil have announced that the Women's Motocross (WMX) Class will receive a premier television package for the 2009 season. All eight rounds of the series will be featured on the Versus Network with in-depth one hour broadcasts. In addition, four rounds will also air with half hour broadcasts on the Outdoor Channel. All of these programs will be produced by new series sponsor Lucas Oil, and the Lucas Oil Television studios.
Reigning champion Ashley Fiolek has kicked off the 2009 season with impressive victories at Glen Helen Raceway and the Hangtown Motocross Classic, making her two for two in her first season with the factory Honda Red Bull Racing team.
(Fiolek is now 3 for 3 with her win at Freestone. See the Freestone results) Coverage will commence on Versus beginning June 5. All of the events are scheduled to air on select Wednesday evenings from June through September at 6 p.m. local time. Air dates can be found below along with the season schedule.
In all, the WMX shows will reach a combined 105 million households across the country. Each Versus broadcasts will transmit into 74 million homes while the Outdoor Channel telecasts will span 31 million homes, generating more exposure for women's motocross than ever before.
